Terms and conditions
These terms explain the rules for using Fineri: what we offer, what we expect from you and what you can expect from us. Read them together with the privacy notice, which explains what data we keep and why.
1. Who we are
Fineri is a personal-finance service operated from Mexico. It works on the web, at fineri.app, and in the apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. In these terms, “Fineri”, “we” or “the service” mean that service and whoever operates it; “you” are the person who creates an account and uses it.
The full name or legal name of the party responsible and its address will be stated in the final version of this document.
2. Acceptance
To create an account you must read and accept these terms and the privacy notice. By ticking the box “I accept the terms and conditions and the privacy notice” you confirm that you read them, understand them and agree with them. We store the date you accepted and the version you accepted.
You must be of legal age (18, or the age of majority in your country if it is higher) and able to enter into a contract. If you do not agree with these terms, do not create an account or use the service.
3. The service
Fineri helps you organize and understand your money. Among other things, you can:
- keep a wallet with your accounts and record your transactions (expenses, income and transfers);
- create budgets, goals and savings, and follow their progress;
- see analyses, forecasts and suggestions about your finances;
- use an AI assistant and a document reader that proposes transactions from statements, receipts or invoices you upload.
Fineri is a tool for recording and analysis. It is not a bank or a financial institution: it does not hold, move or invest your money, it does not make payments for you and it does not ask for your bank passwords. The balances and transactions you see are the ones you record or confirm.
We may improve, change or retire features over time; we will tell you about important changes beforehand, as section 13 explains.
4. Your account and its security
You can sign in with your e-mail and a password, with Google or with a passkey (your device's fingerprint, face or code). To protect your information, Fineri asks for a second verification step, such as an authenticator app or a passkey, and offers you backup codes for when your device is not at hand.
You are responsible for:
- giving true information when you sign up and keeping your e-mail up to date;
- looking after your password, devices, passkeys and backup codes, and not sharing them;
- what is done from your account, including the connections or access tokens you authorize for other tools, which act on your behalf until you revoke them.
If you think someone accessed your account without permission, change your password, review your verification factors and write to us as soon as possible.
5. Plans, payments and cancellation
Fineri has a free plan and paid plans (such as Pro) with more features or more use of the assistant. What each plan includes and its price are shown in the app before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details are received and stored by Stripe; Fineri does not store your full card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (for example, every month) until you cancel them.
- You can cancel at any time from your profile. Cancelling stops the next charges; you keep the paid features until the end of the period you already paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan without losing your data.
- Unless the applicable law says otherwise, there are no refunds for periods already paid for or partly used.
- If we change the price of a plan, we will tell you before the new price applies to your next renewal, so you can decide whether to continue.
- Prices may include or add the taxes that apply in your country.
If a plan is ever purchased through an app store, the charge, renewal and refunds of that purchase will also follow that store's rules.
6. Acceptable use
Use Fineri to manage your own finances and lawfully. You may not:
- use the service for fraud, money laundering or any other illegal activity;
- try to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or get around the security measures;
- interfere with the service, overload it or extract data in an automated way without permission;
- copy, resell or exploit the service or its content without authorization;
- upload malicious content or other people's information without the right to do so.
If you record other people's data (for example, the name of someone you share an expense with), make sure you have the right to do so.
7. Your information and our intellectual property
Your information is yours. The transactions, accounts, budgets, goals, notes and documents you record or upload belong to you. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the service, as the privacy notice explains. You can download your transactions and delete your account whenever you want.
Fineri, its software, design, brand, logos and texts belong to Fineri or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to use the service under these terms; we do not transfer any other right to you.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Fineri with no obligation to pay you for them.
8. Artificial-intelligence features
The assistant and the document reader use artificial-intelligence models. Before using them, keep in mind that:
- Their answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check what they tell you before making decisions.
- Nothing changes in your account without your confirmation: when the assistant or the reader proposes to create or change transactions, budgets or goals, you review the proposal and decide whether it is saved.
- To answer you, the necessary part of your message, of your data or of the document you upload is sent to artificial-intelligence model providers, which process it under their own terms. Wherever the provider allows it, we choose the options under which that information is not used to train its models.
- Use of the assistant may have limits depending on your plan.
Do not use these features to obtain legal, tax, medical or investment advice.
9. Not financial advice
The analyses, forecasts, suggestions, opportunities and answers of the assistant are for information only and are based on the data you record. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and they do not take your whole situation into account. Decisions about your money are yours; if you need advice, consult a licensed professional.
10. Availability of the service
We work to keep Fineri available and working well, but we cannot guarantee that it will never have failures, interruptions or errors. There may be pauses for maintenance, updates or causes beyond our control (for example, failures of internet or infrastructure providers). The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, to the extent the law allows.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the applicable law, Fineri is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits or opportunities arising from the use of or inability to use the service, from decisions made on the basis of its analyses or answers, or from errors in the data you record or confirm.
If Fineri is found liable, its total liability will not exceed what you paid Fineri in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it (or zero, if you use the free plan), unless the law provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer that cannot be waived.
12. Termination and account deletion
You can stop using Fineri and delete your account at any time from your profile. For security, we will ask you to confirm your identity. Deleting it erases your account and your financial data, as the privacy notice explains. If you have a paid subscription, cancel it first to avoid new charges.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, puts the security of the service or of other people at risk, or when the law requires it. When reasonable, we will tell you beforehand and give you a chance to download your information.
13. Changes to the terms, the service and prices
Fineri reserves the right to change in the future these terms, the privacy notice, the service, its modalities (for example, what each plan includes) and its prices.
We will always tell you beforehand and in full: we will say what changes and from when, and we will ask you to read and accept the new version to keep using your account. A price change never applies to a period you already paid for; it applies from your next renewal and only after we have told you. Each version has a date and a version number at the top.
If you do not agree with a new version, you can decline it, cancel your subscription, download your transactions and delete your account.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute will be settled before the competent courts of Mexico, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer, including the option of going to Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco).
15. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, write to us through the contact channel shown on fineri.app (the “Contact” link at the bottom of the home page).
